This is water softeners are made by Whirlpool Corporation which is one of the largest manufacturers of home appliances in the USA. It has its headquarter in Benton Charter Township, Michigan.

While it may not be the cheapest water softener on the market, the whirlpool series of water softeners is certainly one of the most affordable, high performing water softeners around. You have the option of choosing either a whirlpool 30,000 grain, whirlpool 44,000 grain, and whirlpool 33,000. All these three use a combined brine and resin tank.

Whirlpool softeners are installed with electronic control vales which enables them to keep track of water usage so as to automatically regenerate. Another cool feature that is unique to the Whirlpool brand is the low salt light indicator that lights up when you need to refill the brine.

Because of the combination design of the resin and brine tank, whirlpool has a compact design that saves on space at home. In addition, it has an elegant design that is good on the eye. You can easily set up the system because you will just need to screw it to your existing plumbing.

As you know, warranty is an important feature to look at when buying things. Whirlpool comes with 3 year warranty that covers the control valve and 10 years warranty for the combo tank.

GE Water Softeners

GE water softeners are made by GE Appliances which was a subsidiary of the General Electric’s until 2016 when it was sold to Haier Group. GE’s Appliances has three popular water softeners models. These are 30,000 grains capacity, 40,000 grains capacity, and 45,000 grains capacity. As you probably know, GE Appliances has been around for many years, so they have a reputation to protect when it comes to the quality of their products.

GE water softeners are efficient in terms of consuming salt. They have a meter based regeneration cycle. This means they regenerate when a certain amount of water has been softened.

The installation process is super simple. You don’t need to get a professional to install it for you. The control head has a three-year warranty and the tank comes with 10 years warranty.

While it may not be the most popular brand in the market, it stills a solid system that softens your water quickly and efficiently.

You should know that, if you buy the 30,000 grains or the 40,000 grains models, they come with one tank because they have a combined resin and brine tank. Therefore, the price is on the lower side. However, 45,000 grains model will come with two tanks a separate brine tank and another tank that contains resin.

If you do decide to go with GE, you have to take into consideration how hard your water is before settling on either the 30K 40K or the 45k models.
